Pantone Color of the Year 2012 - Tangerine Tango
If you are looking for an energetic boost for the new year, try the color of 2012 Tangerine Tango. "Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. According to Pantone's color experts the color encourages consumers, and builds on the ideas of courage and action. Several fashion designers, including Elie Tahari, Tommy Hilfiger, Nanette Lepore and Adrienne Vittadini, already included tangerine in their spring 2012 collections. In small doses tangerine color can energize a room. You can include it in decorative pillows and tabletop accessories, accent pieces or housewares, kitchen and bath fixtures. Orange is also great for jewelry. Here is a great example of Eclipseline's jewelry collections - Lovely carnelian necklace with dark redish to light orange hues.
CommentsYou know, growing up in Austin has left me with a crpnilpig fear of orange. I always equate orange with Halloween or UT, and burnt orange is not a good color. I think Tangerine Tango has restored my faith in orange. I will definitely be trying this color out.laura | 27/04/2012, 22:25 You know, growing up in Austin has left me with a crpnilpig fear of orange.
